How to Have the “Perfect” Day

It’s not that there aren’t enough hours in the day, it’s that you might not be using them in the “perfect” way. According to new research published in the Journal of Economic Psychology, the average woman’s ideal waking hours consist mainly of sex, socializing, relaxing, and eating.

Researchers asked almost 100 employed women how they spend their time on a typical day, taking note of how positively or negatively the women felt about each activity. From this data, the study authors created a “perfect” 16-hour day, accounting for level of pleasure and utility for each activity.

They found that in order for the average woman to have a perfect day, she should include 106 minutes of sexual intimacy, 82 minutes of socializing, 78 minutes of relaxing, and 75 minutes of eating. In this scenario, the average woman would ideally only clock 36 minutes of work, according to the study.

While this may seem far from your reality, you can still strive to make each day better. Here’s how to make the most of the study’s top four recommendations:
