Beauty Review: Algenist Overnight Restorative Cream

After a summer of (very responsible!) sun exposure, my skin still needs some evening-out. A little background on my skin: It tans easily, burns if I’m not careful, and can always use extra moisture, both from food and from products. Here’s where a new product from skincare line Algenist comes in.

The Overnight Restorative Cream promises to boost your skin’s radiance while preventing other signs of aging (one of my nightmares—can you relate?) with a special ingredient, alguronic acid. The company calls alguronic acid, the part of a microalgae cell that protects it against the environment, an algal alternative to the well-known age-fighter, retinol. So you’re leveling out your skin tone, fighting aging, and adding an incredible dose of moisture to your face, all while catching up on your beauty sleep!

So what’s the verdict? The cream is light, virtually fragrance-free and has left my pores smaller-looking and my skin softer and smoother than before. I’m well on my way to the dewy skin I’ve always wanted, no makeup required.

The cream, $ 90, is now available at sephora.com.
