Happy Birthday To Me!

I filmed a short video yesterday about some great tips to help make fitness and healthy living a part of your lifestyle as well as talking about myself because it was MY BIRTHDAY!

But when I uploaded it, I was super disappointed with the lighting and the fact that I looked as if I hadn’t slept in days despite my makeup; so you’ll just have to wait until next week. UGH!

But anywho… it was my birthday yesterday! Wow, how quickly the years go by! But I know 28 is going to be a great year! I am not one of those people that hates getting older, because let’s face it… it’s better than the alternative and each year should be welcomed with opened arms.

Oh How I’m Loved!

I am so blessed to have so many friends and family! I can’t tell you how much it rocks to have so many “happy birthdays” on my facebook, in emails and I LOVED getting cards!

I also love the presents my husband and parents got me…

I can not express how excited I am for this little bad boy to come in the mail! All of the pictures you see are done on my iphone and I have been trying to up my photography skills for awhile now. I can’t wait to see all the think I can do with this!

And my parents got me this awesome Nike GPS Watch!

And now that my knee is getting better, I can’t wait to try this guy out! The only thing I hate about athletic watches is that they are not geared towards small wristed women. I have the wrists of a 6 year old! But I am excited to get my training going and plan out my running plans for my next big race!

I’ve never had a GPS watch before, so if you have any advice for me please pass it on!

And that was my birthday! Of course there was also Master’s watching (Tiger Woods… ugh!) and then dinner out at a little Thai restaurant, and then a movie date in! It was a perfect day to a new year!

Back To The Gym!!

Switching gears… I am so excited to get back into the gym after my week hiatus!

There have been a few pull-ups and push-ups here and there but I have managed to avoid a gym workout for a week! That’s quite a feat, and now my body is begging for some physical activity!

I am still going to be going light on my lower body (and wearing a super sexy knee brace) but I am ready to get back to my weights! Oh how I have missed them.

Then next weekend, I will attempt a short 3-mile, assuming there is NO MORE knee pain going up or down stairs; and no feeling of weakness either.

What’s For Dinner?

I didn’t take pictures of my birthday foods, but I stayed healthy all day except for my cheat meal of Fro-yo yogurt on the way home… I am pretty sure I can never give up yogurt for good! It’s my sweet treat that always satisfies!
